Practitioner Spotlight: Ian, Clinic Owner of Refresh by Ian

Ian’s journey into aesthetics is rooted in experience, integrity, and a deep commitment to patient care. Long before entering the world of injectables, Ian spent over 14 years in the beauty industry, specialising in facials and massage. This early career provided him with a strong foundation in skin health, anatomy, patient communication, and trust-building- principles that continue to define his work today.

Although Ian later moved into a sales role, his passion for hands-on, patient-focused work never faded. With a clear desire to return to a career where he could learn continuously, make a meaningful impact, and deliver exceptional care, Ian made the decision to re-enter aesthetics. This transition allowed him to combine his extensive industry experience with advanced clinical training, ultimately leading to the creation of Refresh by Ian.

Training, Ethics, and a Distinctive Approach

Ian has taken a progressive and highly regulated training pathway, advancing from Level 2 through to his current Level 7 qualification in aesthetics (OFQUAL regulated). This deliberate approach reflects his commitment to safety, ethics, and best practice- prioritising strong foundations over speed or shortcuts.

His years of experience working closely with skin and patients heavily influence his clinical style. Ian is known for his conservative, natural approach, placing strong emphasis on thorough consultation, patient education, and long-term skin health rather than trends or over-treatment.

Lessons from the Journey

Reflecting on his career, Ian notes that one of the most valuable lessons he has learned is that changing direction is not a step backwards, but often a move towards something more aligned. Returning to aesthetics after working in sales reinforced the importance of patience, consistency, and trusting the process. For Ian, building a clinic is about creating something sustainable, ethical, and rooted in quality- not rushing outcomes.

Why AfterMED Skin Chose to Partner with Ian

At AfterMED Skin, we are proud to partner with practitioners who share our values of safety, education, transparency, and patient-first care. Ian’s commitment to ethical practice, regulated training, and natural outcomes aligns seamlessly with our mission.

His emphasis on consultation, aftercare, and long-term results makes him a trusted advocate for responsible aesthetic treatments- and an ideal partner for AfterMED Lips, where effective aftercare is an essential extension of treatment excellence.

When we asked Ian about his experience with AfterMED Lips in clinic, he stated

“I love AfterMED Lips not just for lip filler, but also after microneedling. It’s my go-to because it soothes and calms the skin, promotes healing, and keeps the treated area hydrated and nourished. Using it after any procedure helps support the results and ensures the skin stays healthy and happy, whether it’s enhancing lips or caring for your face after microneedling.”

We are proud to support Refresh by Ian and work alongside practitioners who prioritise integrity, patient confidence, and clinical best practice.
